Home Information Packs

In August 2007 the government introduced an EU scheme designed to improve the process of buying and selling your home.  It should make the process more transparent as it requires more information to be made available to potential purchasers when marketing your property.

As a consequence, it is now necessary for a pack to be completed and returned to ourselves before your property can be marketed.

What is in a Pack

Every property being put on the market now has to carry with it a Home Information Pack (HIP).  This pack compiles documents required when homes are bought and sold -some of these documents are mandatory requirements of the HIP and some are optional information.

• We have the ability to order your HIP via our Associated London Office as soon as we have received your instructions, which should enable us to market your property within seven working days.
• Our HIPs are un-branded, and because you pay for them up-front, they are completely yours!  We will often refund the cost of the HIP as part of our agreement at time of completion.
• Your HIP will be produced electronically, although a hard copy can be available upon request.
• Your solicitor or surveyor can provide your HIP if this is your preference.
• An Energy Performance Certificate will be incorporated into our sale particulars, in compliance with HIPs legislation.
